The biggest public records centre in the Netherlands is a very interesting and rewarding place to work. The archives are an important part of the "national memory", recording the lives and works of royalty, aristocrats, politicians and civil servants. They must first be collected, sorted and in many cases restored. Only then can they be made available to the public in a user-friendly way.

It is the task of the Nationaal Archief staff to ensure that all this material can be used as effectively as possible by a wide range of people. New methods, techniques and ideas are constantly being developed to do this. The great variety of work done by Nationaal Archief means that we offer many different types of employment – from Restorer to Reading Room Assistant and from Professional Researcher to IT specialist.
